Pakistan needs greater help for IDPs: UN
A top UN humanitarian envoy wrapped up a fact-finding visit to the NWFP on Monday calling on donors to step up their assistance to help the millions of people who have been uprooted from their homes. ‘The situation in NWFP is unprecedented, both in terms of the speed and scale of displacement’, said Abdul Aziz Arrukban, the UN Secretary General’s special Envoy. He said while the humanitarian community was making a ‘valiant effort’ they alone could not sustain it unless they received greater support from donors.
Oman commits $12 million relief for refugees

600 displaced families in Chakdara yet awaiting relief
About 600 of the IDP families accommodated in three camps in Khadagzai Uniion Council of Chakdara in Dir Lower are yet to get any assistance and relief from the government or NGOs. The IDPs in these camps have neither been registered nor provided any relief. These IDPs have been accommodated in government schools and hospital buildings and the local people are managing the affairs of the camps.
