Khubaib Qurbani Programme for Prisoners

Qurbani, on the day of Eid-ul -Adha, has always been a great obligation to this great Ummah of Rasulallah (SAW). The act of ‘Udhiya’ is to commemorate the great act of worship offered by the Prophet Ibrahim (AS).Qurbani in Islamic terms means the slaughtering of an animal with the intention of getting close to Allah (SWT) by giving some or all of the meat to the poor, the needy, the destitute and also the prisoners. Khubaib Foundation is also doing charity to the prisoners by contributing and distributing the Qurbani meat to them. Khubaib Qurbani Programme spread happiness and cheers amongst the prisoners especially during the festival of Eid-ul-Adha where all Muslims are in the spirit of festivities.

Khubaib Qurbani programme has always been a crucial part of the relief work at Khubaib Foundation. With preparation starting months in advance of Eid-ul-Adha, Khubaib Foundation purchase suitable animals, fed them sufficiently and then sought out the most deserving recipients (including prisoners) of the donations. This year in 2011, through the generosity of Khubaib Foundation’ donors, 1765 cows were slaughtered and the blessings of Eid reached poor prisoners throughout the country covering the flood affected areas and prisons of Pakistan. Khubaib Foundation provides qurbani meat in all the prisons of Pakistan. A need base assessment of all the prisons is being sought before Eid and meat is provided according to requirement. Alhamdulillah, fresh ‘Qurbani’ meat is being distributed throughout the prisons of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
