Khubaib Foundation had the privilege to be the equal partner in rehabilitation, reconstruction and management of post earthquake support service in close collaboration with many International and Local NGOs like IHH- Turkey, The Zakat Foundation of America, etc. and Government of Pakistan in Islamabad, NWFP and Azad Kashmir. The Foundation was the first organization authorized by the Government of Pakistan to manage orphanage homes and shelter for widows and destitute women in all areas. Based on Khubaib Foundation’s extensive work since day one, the Foundation was involved in providing rehabilitation, reconstruction, education, shelter for orphanages to widows, in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and North Western Frontier Post (NWFP), Pakistan.
Pioneer Initiatives by KHUBAIB FOUNDATION
First and sole organization authorized in collection, management and supervision of orphan children, widows and destitute women. Establishment of AASHIANA-President Rehabilitation Initiative for Orphans, Widows and Destitute Women at Hattian as the first rehabilitation center.

Islamabad:
1. Following the collapse of the Margalla Tower in Islamabad, Khubaib was the first organization to come to the relief of the affectees and established three on site camps where Iftari and Sehri were provided to almost 1500 people daily for over a week.
2. The Foundation had established a camp village in front of Capital hospital near Aabpara Market. The village was set up on the hockey ground and almost 2000 victims of the earthquake from the affected areas of Kashmir and NWFP were provided shelter along with food three times a day other basic life necessities such as tent, blankets, cloths, crockery etc. During the Holy month of Ramadan, the number of the beneficiaries from Iftar and Sahri was fluctuating from 2500 to 3500. Aabpara camp was closed after 8 months with a grand program by providing all the families of the camp with Rs. 30,000, a tent, new kitchen utensils, clothes and one month ration. During the program held in Community Center Hall, Aabpara, Federal Minister for Information, Mr. Durrani motivated the affectees and shields were submitted to the people who one way or the other contributed in the relief activities of the Foundation. Among the guests were Dr. Shehzad Waseem, President of IHH, Turkey and media teams from Turkey.
3. The Foundation had a hall named Iqbal Hall in G-7, Islamabad and accommodated 425 victims who were provided with bedding, personal hygiene items and cooked food.
4. A camp in front of PIMS Hospital as well served food and also supplemented basic medicines to the patients brought from the affected areas and their relatives who came along with the patients and were supposed to live in the open area for days.
5. A camp in H-11 sector of Islamabad was set up with 50 tents to the affectees and providing food and health services during the month of Ramadan.
Mansehra:
1. A base-camp was established Attarshisha, Mansehra in a local school building. It was fully equipped with a hospital section (including surgery facilities), a food distribution quarter and sleeping areas Food was cooked on-site and then distributed in different hospitals like Mansehra, Aboddabad, etc where a large number of victims from affected areas had come for emergency treatment along with their relatives.
The relief camp worked in its full flow. An emergency operation theatre was established with 60 beds and patients have been treated and also forwarded to District Headquarters Hospital of Mansehra and to the capital. Daily almost 600 patients were treated and 40 surgeries were held.
Around 400 volunteers including doctors worked for the relief operation at the camp day and night moving into different teams to the areas sometimes by foot only carrying medical aid and food supply to people. Injured people were carried to the camp, where they were provided with immediate medical help.
2. The Foundation set up a temporary shelter village at Attarshisha exclusively for orphans and widows. Tents were installed for boarding, a school of eight classes, a field hospital, a masjeed, a kitchen, washrooms, a vocational training center for widows and playground for orphans. There were 300 orphans and 30 widows at the camp and getting facilities provided to them. The field officer of the Foundation visited different villages and camps and collect orphans.
6 months later, the Foundation rented a land on which an orphanage was established with prefabricated material brought from Turkey with boarding, school, masjeed, mess, kitchen and playground. During winter 2007 the orphans were shifted to Haripur where the Foundation acquired 300 kanal of land specifically for establishing an educational city.
Muzaffarabad
1. The Foundation had established a relief camp Chela Bandi, Muzaffarabad by with the capacity of 220 tents and approximately 2000 people were provided with basic necessities and regular food supply. During the month of Ramadan, the Foundation as well organized food distribution in near by areas of Muzaffarabad and hospital in the city.
The camp was closed during the month of April 2006 with an occasion where Ex-President of Kashmir was the chief guest. The residents left the camp taking the tents along with them to their places in order to use till they could rebuild their houses which will take another year for them to do. The people will need to spend the coming winter under the same tents since financial assistance promised by the government has not been issued to the people yet and heavy rain season of monsoon is starting in the month of July which does not allow for any construction to be done.
The residents were also gifted $ 500, basic life necessities and kitchen utensils along with a tent. They all were extremely happy and thankful to the people who contributed one way or the other in their life settlement.
2. Beside the residents in the camp, a large number of injured and sick people approached the camp for medical services. In the early stage, the Foundation established a field hospital at Chehla Bandi, Muzaffarabad which served under the tents to countless people on day night basis. There came a number of volunteer doctors from Turkey as well as Pakistan who selflessness worked in order to ease the pain and sorrow of the victims. The field hospital was later constructed with facilities for women and children and then inaugurated by the President of Azad & Jammu Kashmir on 28th March 2006.
3. Since the beginning, Muzaffarabad camp became a distribution centre in the area. Continuous distributions were arranged to near and far villages of specially Jehlum and Neelum Valleys and affectees were provided with blankets, warm clothes, shoes, crockery, food items, etc. The distribution is an ongoing activity in the area till the date.
Khubaib College Rara:
After the earthquake, the Foundation leased a land in Rara, Muzaffarabad which is 8 kilometers before the capital city, Muzaffarabad, of Azad and Jammu Kashmir where two boarding and one school building have been constructed for orphans.
Project was tendered and iron structure construction was decided for the boarding as well as school which continued around one and half year and completed by August 2008 and opened its door not only for orphans but local students as well in its college as day schoolars. The project has been named as Khubaib Boarding School, Rara.

Balakot, Allai, Bagh, Rawalakot, Abbaspur
The Foundations arranged distribution programs of different food items such as rice, sugar, oil, dates, grains, floor and blankets, winter clothes, shoes, etc for women, men and children, in other affected areas mainly in Balakot, Allai, Banna, Bagh, Rawalakot, Abbaspur and the side areas and the villages of mentioned places. The total number of the food trucks distributed in affected areas was 175. Whereas the number of the villages so far covered was around 125.
Haripur After the Earthquake, the Foundation purchased a 300 kanal of land to establish an Educational City where at present a boarding school for orphan boys is running with 150 boys.

AASHIANA President’s Rehabilitation Initiative for Orphans, Widows and Destitute Women
Rehabilitation, resettlement and reformation of the earthquake victims particularly orphans, destitute women and those suffered for any disability was a great challenge to both the government and the civil society organizations. Quickly responding to the call and emergency needs, President of Pakistan, showing his deep concern announced AASHIANA – President’s Rehabilitation Initiative Center for Orphans, Widows and Destitute Women. The project was named by President of Pakistan himself.
Khubaib Foundation was the only organization officially authorized by the Government of Pakistan for registration, resettlement and service provision to orphans and widows in the earthquake areas. The Foundation’s team and volunteers have been working in the areas for the collection of the children and widows from earthquake affected areas, camps and hospitals to AASHIANA.
Location:
AASHIANA is situated at WAPDA Colony – Hattian (A place 3 Km before Kamra (Distt. Attock). The place is at a 55 minutes drive from Islamabad. The site at Hattian was a ready made but abandoned residential complex built for residential purpose of the officers and workers of Ghazi Barotha Hydro Electric Power Project.
Establishment of the Project:
The project was inaugurated by the President of Pakistan, General Pervaiz Musharraf and the UN Secretary General, Mr. Koofi Annan on November 18, 2005.

Reconstruction Projects
After relief and rehabilitation, the Foundation contributed in reconstruction phase. The foundation repaired or constructed the followings over and above its own projects that it has been running;
