FLOODS DEVASTATION IN PAKISTAN AND RELIEF PROVIDED BY KHUBAIB FOUNDATION

Khubaib Foundation Flood Relief Response August - September – 2013

Khubaib Foundation launched emergency response soon after the flood hit the country and immediate steps have been taken to address issues of hunger, shelter, clean drinking water, health and hygiene in the worst affected areas of Punjab. These relief activities are the result of staff's commitment and passion to provide humanitarian assistance well in time.

Realizing the basic human needs of the people settled in the relief camps / residing in their demolished houses, Khubaib Foundation supplied cooked food / dry food items to the affected population in the province of Punjab on a daily basis.

Under this food distribution programme, two time meals have been provided to the flood affectees. However the number of affectees in district Muzaffargarh kept on increasing due to colossal losses and damage of crops and houses. Khubaib Foundation has supplied cooked food to 9000 families and 50,000 persons in the province of Punjab so far. The Project was started on August 20, 2013 and it will continue till September 30, 2013.

Initially, Khubaib Foundation announced to disburse PKR 7 million for flood affectees of Punjab province (Pakistan) to provide emergency relief -food, health assistance, and clean drinking water. Khubaib Foundation emergency response team along with volunteers is working in the flood affected areas and delivering cooked meals, dry ration, medical assistance and clean drinking water.
