HARIPUR, Pakistan — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally registered the Khubaib School and College Haripur Cricket Club, and 25 of the 40 students who took part in recent selection trials have advanced to the next round of the board’s talent hunt program.
The registration gives the club official standing with the PCB, allowing it to take part in PCB-sanctioned competitions going forward. It also places the club’s young cricketers within the board’s structured development pathway, rather than leaving their progress dependent on one-off tryouts.
Trials were held on campus, where forty students from the school were assessed across batting, bowling and fielding before selectors narrowed the group down to the 25 who will move forward in the talent hunt process.
Khubaib Foundation Chairman Nadeem Ahmed Khan said the trials allowed students in the district to be evaluated by PCB selectors without having to travel to a larger city, where cricket trials in Pakistan are typically concentrated. For many participants, he noted, it was their first experience of a formal selection process. He added that sports remain a core part of student life at the campus, with structured programs in cricket and other games running alongside academics to build discipline, teamwork and fitness.
School administrators congratulated the selected students, crediting their consistent effort and the coaching support provided through the campus cricket club.
Khubaib School and College Haripur operates under the Khubaib Foundation, a Pakistani NGO working since 1999 in education, orphan care, clean water and disaster relief. Students at the Haripur campus include orphaned and underprivileged children whose schooling, boarding and extracurricular activities are supported by the foundation.
