The three-day 6th Inter-Khubaib Taekwondo Championship 2026 concluded at Khubaib Foundation’s Haripur Campus on Saturday, with speakers calling for greater patronage of sports to empower underprivileged youth.
The event, which commenced on January 22, brought together over 600+ athletes from various clubs across the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The championship served as a platform for orphaned and marginalized children to showcase their skills in the Korean martial art under international Kukkiwon standards.

Former Speaker of National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, lauded the initiative for fostering national integration. “Bringing together young athletes from across Pakistan under one roof is a commendable feat. Such events are vital to steer the youth towards healthy activities and build their character through discipline,” he remarked.
A high-level international delegation from Turkiye also attended the finale. A representative of the delegation praised the technical proficiency of the participants, noting that the standard of training provided to the orphans was at par with international sports academies. He reaffirmed the commitment of Turkish partner organization IHH to continue supporting the foundation’s sports and educational programs.

Chairman Khubaib Foundation, Nadeem Ahmed Khan, expressed his gratitude to the guests and participants. He stated that the foundation’s mission was to transform orphans into “resilient and self-reliant leaders.” He added, “Taekwondo is a tool for self-discovery and confidence. Our ‘Khubaibian’ athletes are now being prepared to represent Pakistan internationally.”

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of trophies and medals among the winners of various weight categories. Organizers highlighted that the championship not only promoted sportsmanship but also helped identify raw talent for future national-level competitions.
