Pakistan is prone to natural disasters such as floods due to its geography and monsoon climate. In 2022, heavy monsoon rains caused widespread flooding across many parts of the country, particularly in the Sindh and Balochistan provinces. The floods caused damage to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural lands, and led to displacement of communities.

The extent of the damage and the number of people affected is not clear, as the situation is still evolving. However, it is likely that the floods have caused significant economic and social disruptions, particularly in the affected areas.

The damage and destruction toll from more than six weeks of torrential monsoon rains and flash flooding across Pakistan is mounting, with 950+ people have lost their lives, 605 are severely injured, 95000+  houses are submerged in water, nearly 500000 livestock have perished while countless displaced families, women and children are living under the open sky.
